Salaams - Sally Festing

Sally Festing was born in Cambridge, and took a degree in horticulture at Wye College. She lived with her husband in the US, working as a private secretary, in nursery gardens, and selling cosmetics on a university campus while bringing up her young family.

Early holidays on the North Norfolk coast may help explain her lifelong passion for exploring the links between people, art and landscape. Her eye for detail often catches the reader off guard, creating tiny shocks like a current sparking just under the lines. Unafraid of emotion, she looks reality squarely in the eye, marvelling equally at its beauty and its pain.
